Abstract
This report examines employment and workplace issues in Scotland as thinking about these areas evolves in the run-up to the referendum in September 2014. Whatever the constitutional future of Scotland, the focus of this research is of considerable importance to economic, social and political life on both sides of the border. In the context of the preparations for the 2014 referendum, however, the
report has a particular role to play in offering a synthesis of developments to date and a snapshot of contemporary issues, priorities and concerns. The report has been written for a policy and practitioner audience.
