Abstract

The reform debate on the contents of higher education in England turned to special forms of thought and foundations developed in the field of science in the 17th century. It is about holistic thinking and an encyclopaedic program in which ethics, science and education are to unite. The person and work of Robert Fludd discusses such a central position of philosophical thinking in the 17th century.
