Vortex solitons and azimuthons in vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers with feedback

Abstract

We observe vortex solitons and dissipative azimuthons in a vertical-cavity surfaceemitting laser with feedback, and demonstrate evolution between these states under parameter variation. Stable vortices and azimuthons also exist in a simple model system.
