Abstract

Reliability indices are considered to be reasonable and logic way to judge the performance of an electrical power system. This paper implements this algorithm to compare between four suggested generation techniques, one of them will be renewable namely, wind energy. A MATLAB software based program was developed to obtain the predicted values of the required indices. This program applies Monte Carlo simulation method and the failure and restoration times are considered to be exponentially distributed. A case study where a radial system is fed by different generation techniques is presented through this paper.
