Abstract

Contains practical guidelines explaining how to plan and set up a support group and, by utilising a whole school approach, shows how it can be used to improve the conduct of students with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Issues covered include: Selecting pupils for support groups; Target-setting; Thinking skills; Social inclusion; Staff development.
An accompanying CD Rom contains worksheets, forms, checklists and a number of PowerPoint presentations for printing or photocopying, aiding support group implementation and staff training.
