Abstract
The 2022 film, My Old School, is a docudrama portrayal of the story of 32-year-old Brian MacKinnon who successfully passed himself off as Brandon Lee, 17, to study Highers at Bearsden Academy. This 1995 article sought to highlight a fact already well known to teachers, pupils and researchers - that for the previous 10 years adults had been returning legitimately to study in Scottish secondary schools.
