Towards the total synthesis of Agariblazeispirol C.

Abstract

Efforts within our lab. have focused towards the synthesis of Agariblazeispirol C, 1, which was recently isolated from the cultured mycelia of Agaricus blazei. Our proposed pathway for gaining access to Agariblazeispirol C centers on the strategic employment of metal-mediated cyclisation chem. Specifically, an . Pauson-Khand reaction (PKR) will be used to construct the C/D ring section of the natural target, and a novel intramol. Heck reaction will establish the key all carbon quaternary center between rings B and C.
