Abstract

The article focuses on the reform of the Regional Aid Guidelines (RAG). It presents the early developments in control policy of government aids. It mentions that regional aid control uses risk based approach in assessing the European Union member states' aid measures. It adds that higher award rates were authorised by the European Commission to the poorest regions.
