Abstract

We mark the 65th birthday of Professor Gabriel Ciobanu, member of the Academy of Europe since 2017. He says he is ready to formally conclude his research leadership role at the Institute of Computer Science of the Romanian Academy, Iaşi Branch, and his professorship, spanning over three decades of service, at the Faculty of Computer Science of Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iaşi. However, we, the editors and the authors contributing to this volume, somehow know Gabriel well enough to know that this is just the beginning of something new. Perhaps, it will be just the beginning of an adventure pursuing the depths of ideas that need a different kind of thought and pace. We know that Gabriel will not stop developing theories, and will not stop living life to the full.
