The shape of supply chain relationships for circularity strategies: a resource dependence view of Brazilian manufacturers

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaperpeer-review

Abstract

This study empirically explains how supply chain relationships are shaped to deploy circular strategies in Brazilian manufacturing. This takes a resource-dependence theory perspective to explore interdependence between actors required to implement the circular strategies conceptualised in Potting et al (2017) 10R framework. In doing so, this study offers definition of the external actors, conditions and outcomes underpinning each circular strategy, highlighting how they help to mitigate barriers to circularity in the novel emerging market context. Theoretically, this addresses research gaps surrounding the establishment and management of relationships in circular operations. This can guide managers to deploy circular strategies in practice.
