The Scottish water industry: recent performance and future prospects

This paper seeks to inform the current water policy debate by highlighting some of the key institutional and economic issues raised by the Government's legislative initiative. After discussing the present institutional structure and recent performance of the Scottish water and sewerage industry, the paper goes on to look at the proposed organisational changes and the key economic issues facing it in the years to come.
