Abstract

The Evidence for Enhancement Theme supported the creation of a collaborative cluster for Learning Analytics, which has involved 14 Scottish Institutions working together to explore the use of Learning Analytics in Scotland’s Higher Education. Supported by the work of 14 student interns, the cluster has focussed on compiling and curating a comprehensive information base, supporting the development of sector level policy documentation. Projects have explored the range of relevant data categories, the different requirements of diverse student groups and directly engaged with students and staff to provide insight into the different needs and expectations within our learning communities. This session will review the activities and outputs delivered by this collaboration, showcasing the group’s achievements and highlighting the resources that are now freely available.

The session will be structured by the 3 cluster work streams: Learning Analytics Framework; Staff and Student Engagement; and Application of Learning Analytics; and will introduce the sector-wide policy guidance and other resources, including the Scottish Tertiary Education Learning Analytics Resource (STELAR) wiki, delivered by the cluster.
