The environmental dimension of the MDGs: progress made?

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

With only five years left before States and international organisations come to the deadline they set themselves for delivering on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), this note will assess the outcome of the UN MDG Sunmit (the High-level plenary meeting of the UN General Assembly on the MDGs, held from 20-22 September 2010 at the UN Headquarters in New York). Specifically, attention will be drawn to the relevance for environmental policy and law of the General Assembly Resolution "Keeping the promise: united to achieve the Millennium Development Goals" (A/65/1), in the light of the evolution of the MDGs and the increasing prominence of their environmental dimension.
