Abstract

The control of State aid to large investment projects has long been a preoccupation of the European Commission. A key feature of the evolution of competition policy control over regional aid has been the emphasis on devising ‘frameworks’ within which aid schemes could be authorised thereby obviating the need for case-by-case analysis of individual awards.
