The burden of keeping passwords secret

Research output: Contribution to specialist publicationArticle

Abstract

Password hygiene is important because cyber criminals want to steal credentials to impersonate online users for their own nefarious aims. Two of the best-known password-related rules are to: 1. Create a strong password. 2. Keep it secret. If we maintain this password hygiene, we undeniably reduce the risk linked to weak passwords.
