Abstract

Reaction of Ph(2-Pyr)NH with ''Mg(Bu)2'', followed by addition of amine substrates, gives heteroleptic magnesium bis(amides), one of which, [{Mg[N(Ph)2][N(Ph)(2-Pyr)]}2], has been crystallographically characterized and shown to be a dimer with a central, rectangular azamagnesacyclic ring.
