Abstract

Results of experimental and theoretical studies of wave interference in ID Photonic Band Gap structures formed with rectangular or coaxial waveguides are presented. Transmission coefficients from the structures were studied experimentally, analytically (coupled wave theory) and numerically (code MAGIC). The RF field evolution inside the structures will be presented. The possibility to control the frequency band and mode structure of the scattered waves is discussed. The theoretical results obtained are compared with experimental data and good agreement demonstrated.
