Abstract
Stimulated scattering of the intense electron-neutrino burst in a background of neutrons is investigated. We derive the linear growth rates for several regimes of interest. It is shown that this process is formally equivalent to the usual Stimulated Brillouin Scattering found in laser coupling to ion acoustic oscillations. The influence of this instability in the neutrinosphere and the consequences for the supernovae dynamics are also discussed.
