Abstract
This chapter aims to outline and illustrate some of the fundamental questions which a 'legal-philosophical in context approach' struggles to answer. It seeks to advance the case for a greatwer awareness of the sociology of sentencing and the kinds of insights and new agendas for research and policy it brings.
