Abstract

The three lectures held by Klaus Prange during the Lietz-Lectures 2010 at the Institute for Education and Culture of the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena are summarized under the headline "Show learning education". On the basis of an analysis of the central operations of education, Klaus Prange answers the questions of what is generally meant by upbringing and how pedagogic ethics could follow such a definition. The lectures provide an instructive introduction to this concept of general pedagogy, which has been incorporated into the history of German education science under the name of an operative pedagogy. Klaus Prange's lectures are presented with a thematic introduction by the publisher as well as a bio-bibliographical presentation by Klaus Pranges.
