Abstract

Wastewater treatment necessarily produces two end products: effluent and sewage sludge. In the present Chapter the several types of sewage sludges and the relevant psysicochemical properties are presented. It is important to mention that is generally difficult to identify which type of sludge was studied in the related literature and the relevant data should be used as general guide rather than exact figures and facts.
