Abstract
This chapter reflects on the evolution of CfE as featured in the report, with its focus being on Scottish primary education. In doing so, it considers the primary education reforms that led to CfE. There have been many influences on Scottish education, and Paterson (2003) offers a comprehensive analysis of the political and historical shaping of Scotland’s educational system in the twentieth century, so this chapter does not attempt to give a complete historical account of the topic.
