S-band RSOAs for WDM PONs

Abstract

We report on a polarisation independent S-band RSOA for WDM-PON applications for the first time. Operation at 1.25Gbit/s over the entire S-band is demonstrated in TO-packaged devices with a path loss capability of >25dB.
