Abstract

Fundamentals of the Stem Cell Debate is an intriguing prospect. First, for a relatively slim volume, the title signals an ambitious remit (to cover the fundamentals of the scientific, religious, ethical and political dimensions of the debate). Moreover, the book is ambitious not only in its scope but in its editors' stated aim: ‘to present the central issues in the public discussion over stem cells in a manner that is comprehensive but accessible to the general reader’
