Abstract

Edited by Jackie Beth Shilcutt, Kimberly L. Oliver, and Carla Nascimento Luguetti. Published 2024 by Routledge. $40. 190 pp. ISBN: 9781032363905

This edited collection marks the most recent phase of development of the Activist Approach, which began life with a focus on girls in school physical education and then expanded to include physical education teacher education. This book represents a further expansion in terms of pedagogical sites and subject matter, and geographic location. On the latter, and in addition to the United States, there are chapters here that report Activist work in Australia, Brazil, and Norway, while I know of other published research based in Ireland, Scotland, and Spain.
