Abstract
This short blog post, created for the Global Conservatory on Academic Freedom, speculates on a future when brain computer interfaces (BCIs) come to challenge how, and what, we think. Although this speculation takes place in a hypothetical future, such speculations in the present day allow us to evaluate what we find important in academic freedom now so that it can be protected against potential existential threats in future.
