Regime shifts in shelf sea ecosystems: Topic Sheet no. 70 V1

Research output: Working paperGuide or manual

Abstract

Currently, scientific advice on sustainable limits of exploitation assumes that each species can be considered in isolation and that the underlying productivity remains constant. However, this is an over-simplification and does not protect against environmental change and the full range of fishing pressures. This project aimed to develop a modelling capability and data resources to indicate how management plans for North Sea fish species might be set in the context of a fisheries
management plan for the ecosystem as a whole.
