Abstract
The microstructure and high-temperature mechanical properties of cast alloy Ti-43% Al-X (Nb, Mo, B) belonging to the new class of β-hardening γ-TiAl + α2-Ti3Al alloys is investigated. The alloy in the cast state and after a heat treatment promoting structure refinement is studied by the methods of light and scanning electron microscopy, microscopic x-ray spectrum analysis, and differential thermal analysis. The mechanical characteristics are evaluated in tensile tests in air at 1000 and 1100°C.
