Recent advances in all-optical signal processing in silicon photonics

Abstract

We review recent work on all-optical signal processing in silicon photonics. In
particular, we describe the integration of a nonlinear optical loop mirror in silicon-on-insulator for applications including wavelength conversion, NRZ-to-RZ modulation format conversion, and optical time-division de-multiplexing.
