Abstract

This paper presents the application of Halbach PMs in two-stator motors. First, the Halbach PMs in radial-flux two-stator motors, motor structure and parameters, and some magnetic properties are investigated, based on that the motor is designed considering structure and PM constraints. Then, the performance parameters of the designed motor, such as average and cogging torque, as well as back-emf are analyzed and compared with the motor that has radially magnetized PMs to show the advantages and disadvantages. All analyses are done using numerical fields' solution with the aid of 2D finite element analysis.
