Abstract
Seeking to understand both the way in which political reform was treated by journalistic coverage, as well as the role of periodicals as political agents, I question how the newspapers Folha de S. Paulo (FSP), O Globo (OG) and O Estado de S. Paulo (OESP) behaved as agents interested in the different political reform proposals debated in Brazil right after the 1988 Constitution until 2017. I also raise other questions, such as what was the newspapers' agenda on political reform between 1989 and 2017 ? What agendas and frameworks are activated over time, highlighting possible transformations in the interests of companies? Are there differences between agendas and frameworks mobilized by informative and opinion coverage? Does the informative coverage correspond to editorial standards? Are the arguments and agendas mobilized similar both internally (within the newspapers themselves) and externally (comparison between them)? The objective of the work, therefore, is: Analyze whether, and to what extent, the newspapers Folha de S. Paulo, O Globo and O Estado de S. Paulo behave as agents interested in the political reforms debated in Brazil since 1989 to 2017, as well as evaluating the way in which coverage on the topic unfolds over the period.
