Abstract

A teacher’s guide and activity workbook for secondary educators, built around the Candelario Villafaña graphic novel. It sets out a pedagogical framework and five classroom activities for teaching nineteenth-century imperial history: slavery, race and the caste system, state violence, and resistance in Spanish colonial Cuba. Aimed at teachers of students aged 12 to 18.
