Photochromism in irradiated diamond

Abstract

Photochromism exhibited at low temperatures in the absorption line at 1.521 eV in electron-irradiated type IIb diamond is described and understood in terms of a simple model. Energy and temperature dependence of the photoconversion process are discussed briefly.
