Abstract
Discusses legal implications of changes to the concept of "parent". Considers the parenthood regime after infertility treatment introduced by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 2008, including the factors to be considered by licensed infertility clinics, provision for a child to have two parents of the same sex and the rules on deemed fatherhood. Notes inconsistencies between the 2008 Act and the adoption regime in England and Scotland. Comments on changes to the Family Law (Scotland) Act 1985 s.9(1)(c) on financial provision on dissolution.
