Abstract

The latest figures on the labour market in Scotland are summarised. Labour Force Survey (LFS) data show that in the three months to November 2004 the level of employment rose by 9 thousand, to 2,446 thousand. Over the year to November 2004, employment increased by 44 thousand. The employment rate – as a percentage of the working age population – rose marginally to 75.2 per cent, up
0.2 percentage points on the previous quarter. Over the year to November 2004, the employment rate was up by 1.0 per cent.
