Output broadband multilayer microwave windows for terahertz gyro-TWAs

Abstract

This paper presents the design, simulation and technical considerations of microwave output windows, based on the multilayer type, for THz gyro-TWAs. This type of window, when the geometries of the dielectric layers are optimized, can achieve very low microwave reflection over a very broad bandwidth. Operation at low-THz frequencies, centered around 0.37 THz, presents problems and challenges to manufacturing such a window. The numerically optimized window, in this design, was calculated to achieve a passband of under -30 dB reflection over greater than 7% bandwidth.
