Abstract
The provisional estimates of output in the production and construction industries in Scotland for the fourth quarter 1994, suggest that performance weakened compared with the rest of the UK. In the fourth quarter, output of the production and construction industries in Scotland fell by 0.3%, production output fell by 0.3%, manufacturing output fell by 0.5%, and
construction output also fell, by 0.2%. In the UK, in contrast, output rose in all principal sectors. Production and construction output rose by 0.5%, with activity in the production, manufacturing and construction industries rising by 0.6%, 0.7%, and 0.4%, respectively.
