Abstract

We focus our annual review of the journal on the sad news of the passing in June of our dear friend and co-founder of the journal Otto Wolfbeis. Otto had a stellar career with a wide-ranging global impact of his research resulting in over 600 publications and an h-index of over 100. His work on sensors throughout his time at the Universities of Graz and Regensburg was embryonic.
