Abstract

Demonstration project for a novel access forecasting system developed on the ORACLES project. We explain the economic and safety rationale for the project, and provide key insights regarding data streams, user interface and engagement with the Teesside operations team.
The system, which has been developed at University of Strathclyde, was developed to be as flexible as possible, using data streams available at any operational wind farm. Key data streams used in this demo are weather forecast API (provided by DTN), wave radar (Miros Scotland), vessel monitoring VMMS (Reygar Marine Systems).
The wind industry requires further tangible examples of OPEX cost reduction, in order to guarantee operation of offshore wind farms beyond the CfD period (15 years). A key aim of the ORACLES+ demo is to provide a use case for leveraging rich operational data currently not being used to its full potential. This case study will also share some initial results from the Teesside demo.
