Abstract
The increasing requirement to ensure power system disturbances are isolated quickly and correctly, coupled with the technological advances in the field of telecommunications and data capture, have led to a considerable increase in the data available from the power system. Unfortunately, during emergency conditions when such data is most valuable, the volume of data available can lead to important events being overlooked. This paper reports on a decision support system (DSS), consisting of three intelligent systems, which aid protection engineers in their post-fault analysis by summarising the captured data.
