Abstract
The chapter provides an overview of the recent innovative approaches in developing sustainable settlements by applying a ‘Transition Town’ model in Scotland. In addition, an overview of funding incentives for developing more sustainable built environment through research collaboration and knowledge transfer between universities and industry are presented, including the key organisations involved.
