Abstract
Efficient passive mode-locking of a diode-pumped Yb3+:KY(WO4)2 laser using a PbS quantum-dot-doped saturable absorber is described. A saturation fluence of 15μJ/cm2 and a fast temporal decay of 6ps were measured in this quantum-dot-doped glass.
