Abstract

Since fifteen years, the left bank of the lower valley of Var, at the western end of the city of Nice, forms the object of a complex program of urbanistic realisations, Taking the form of a series of large urban projects, within the framework of the Operation of Interest National (OIN) Écovallée Plaine du Var. The perimeter of this OIN is extremely vaste (about 10,000 ha, from the mouth up to the Plan du Var, 23 km plus to the north) and including the plain itself with the primeval coasts that descend, well beyond of municipal territory. Other authors have studied the logics of metropolitan cities. the genesis of this vast program (Bresson-Gillet, 2015). Our focus here is on one of these urban emblematic projects, located in the lower valley of Var Niçoise, celui of the Nice Méridia quarter.
