Introduction: The quantitative analysis of eye movements in the digital domain has allowed to increase the amount of physiological information that can be extracted during the interpretation of the oculográficas signals. In the field of neurosciences, this makes it possible to study in depth the physiopathological mechanisms responsible for oculomotor disorders.

Objectives: The purpose of these methods of analysis is to reduce the subjective component that is introduced during the visual classification of electrical activity records, also reducing the experience required to make a correct evaluation of functional patterns.

Material and methods: In the present work, the response of visual persecution in 27 normal subjects was studied applying quantitative analysis methods both in the time domain and in the frequency domain. We determined a set of variables that act as quantitative descriptors of oculomotor execution during tasks that activate the ocular motor system.

Results: They show that the variables studied in both domains can be very useful to increase the knowledge of the mechanisms underlying the oculomotor execution. The amount of information extracted by these methods, exceeds 80% of the total of the possible to extract.

Conclusions: Further studies should be conducted to evaluate the behavior of these variables in nervous system conditions where the ocular motor system shows some degree of functional compromise.
