    Abstract

    Young people in secure care are some of the most troubled and troublesome young
    people in the country. This chapter provides a mental health perspective on care
    practice in secure settings. The key points include: a discussion of the nature of
    mental health, prevalence of mental health disorders, available services, stigma,
    and care practice.
