Abstract
This report for the Justice Committee of the Scottish Parliament sets out Strathclyde Mediation Clinic's experience of Simple Procedure. It provides evidence about the operation of the 2016 Simple Procedure Rules in a number of Sheriff Courts, particularly focusing on the requirement to consider alternative dispute resolution. The report sets out the wide variation in sheriffs' use of mediation.
