Abstract

Surgeons receive special training in order to practice endoscopic or keyhole surgery. Much of their training is carried out on hollow dummies supplemented by videos of real operations. This approach can be expensive and has limitations. Considers a long-term aim to produce a computer training package that simulates abdominal keyhole surgery.
