    Abstract

    Liam Lambert joined Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London as Director and General Manager in January 2000 from its sister hotel, Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong where he previously held the position of General Manager since 1995. He is also a Board member of Mandarin Group. Liam's career with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group began in 1991 as General Manager of the Excelsior, Hong Kong. Prior to that he worked with Westin Hotels in Canada in senior management positions in the Westin Hotel, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal before becoming General Manager of the Westin Edmonton and then in 1988 transferring to the Westin Plaza Manilla. Born in Dublin, Ireland, Liam began his career in 1971 at the Hotel Claridge in Paris where he worked for two years before relocating to Australia in 1973 to work at the Wentworth Hotel Sydney. In 1994 he attended the Harvard Business School completing the Advanced Management Programme and in 1995 acquired an MBA from the University of South Australia. Liam is married with three daughters and in his leisure time enjoys scuba diving and oil painting.
