Abstract

This book chapter provides an overview on magnetic pulse welding (MPW) with fundamental processing details. MPW is a solid-state joining technique that operates with magnetic field to generate plastic deformation responsible for welding. Sustainability point of view, MPW performs better than conventional welding processes. The process principle, advanced features, effect of process parameters, joining mechanism, weld interface structure, and performance of magnetic pulse welded specimens (with non-destructive and destructive testing) are discussed in this book chapter with support of literature on past work conducted in this area.
