Lattice solitons stabilized by localized losses in ring configurations

Abstract

A new family of stationary and travelling lattice solitons in cylindrical arrays of optical fibres or Bose-Einstein condensates in ring optical lattices are generated and stabilized by removal of energy in localized positions.
